Disney in December 2013

29 Dec

Yes we did! We took the rotten egg to Disney at 2 and a half years old. A certain Santa Claus gave us airplane tickets which saved us from a long drive and gave us much more time for fun. Cam was an amazingly well behaved young man for his first plane ride, incredible angel! Of course we pumped him up exciting him about the trip to Disney but nothing can explain magic expect the experience.

Everything was magical just plain old mind blowing extreme fun! We all had an incredible time just unexplainable joy until the last drop. There were a few melt downs for each of us because of sleep issues, exhaustion and other etc. Cam never wanted to go to bed, too excited loving the adventure. Each morning he would say ‘I want to go to the park!’ The Disney Christmas theme was in full effect and we got to enjoy the beautiful holiday lights and decorations. The crowd was rough on the weekend but during the week it was much less crowded for lines. Oh Mommy was so sad to hear Daddy ask Cam ‘What’s the last ride you want us to go on for our last day here?’ It was Buzz Lightyear and shooting the aliens pew pew pew!

A few of the best moments were the airplane rides, buzz light year games, car show in Hollywood studios, the barn stormer roller coaster rides, the ice creams and of course having character dining with Mickey, Pluto, Chip n Dale and Winnie the Pooh and friends. Cam told us the other day he wanted to go eat at a restaurant with the chipmunks which made Mommy sad! All in all a great joy, sorry so many pictures I tried picking the favs but it was all so wonderful!

November 2013

5 Dec

I’m almost afraid to mention that we are all caught up with vaccinations and did fairly well with some minor cold symptoms this month.  This was the first time I feel like he was sick and I let it pass without making a visit to the pediatrician for clearance.  I really feel like he is definitely stronger and able to handle some germs.  Although every time I see and hear people cough or sneeze or just sound sick I still get that panic feeling like please have some respect and try to keep the germs contained in your space.  Our next cardiology appointment is in February 2014 (knock on wood) unless there are any pressing changes.

Cameron finally gave up the BaBa (with a fight of course) and he is fully potty trained!!!  It was harder for Mama to let the hours or it felt like days go by keeping to our guns on giving up the bottle when he was desperately looking for it at night.  We had a mature talk with visual aids (pictures Mommy tried to draw) about what is expected from big boys:  No more bottles only cups and we must eat food instead of only milk as well as no more diapers only underwear/pull ups and always using the potty.  If Daddy didn’t support/handle the bottle shutdown I probably would not have had the nerve to cold turkey the BaBa. Especially after all Cam has been through with medical expectations and restrictions concerning fluids. Also, we need him to keep up his weight as of now we are reaching for close to average weight.  Cam is drinking full pediasure which is like a milk shake to help with weight gain. Cam had a few melt downs and tantrums over the change but has come to find comfort in some very specific types of cups instead of the bottle.  He does drink from straws and regular cups it is more of a comfort thing at night, I believe anyway.  The food situation is better, he eats like a crazy man here and there but all in all a very picky toddler when it comes to meals.  Maybe it’s because I stress over meals and am concerned about the weight expectations or requirements. I feel that he pushes back at me specifically but I really try my best.  The potty training is complete, I found out that sticker rewards and praise can motivate and work for this task as well as mommy sneaking toys home. All the talk about ‘he should be doing this’ and ‘not be doing that at this age’ can throw something new at us now, this little man is incredible and can certainly handle it like a champ!

Cameron had the honor of being the ring bearer in a dear friends’ wedding.  Cam walked down the isle accompanied by the sweetest flower girl and they were meltingly cute!  I have to state the obvious, Cam was just obnoxiously adorable in the little tuxedo.  The beautiful bride and kind groom gave us a wonderful experience to share with Cam; especially with the second line down the streets of New Orleans Who Dat!

Thanksgiving came and went too fast it was great bringing Cam out to have the family enjoy him.  I still take Cam on adventures as many as I can handle.  I know its super risky taking him out into public germs, but I feel like he deserves as must joy and life one can offer.  Personally I honestly don’t need a holiday to remind me to say I’m thankful for life because every time I look at Cameron I know we are blessed to have him and share each day/hour/minute/second in love. Thank you all for the continued support and prayers, we appreciate all of the considerations put forth for our family. Happy Thanksgiving!!!
