Cam’s first hurricane

10 Sep

Cameron had his first hurricane experience with Isaac. We stayed home in Covington with a generator only lost power for a day not that bad compared to most out there. We had plenty of rain and strong winds nothing else really around our house. Cam was confined for almost three days inside and it was a long stretch for this outside baby. We had toys scattered everywhere in the house and even brought his water table inside for back up entertainment. Cam was so bored he started walking around well taking a few steps here and there then sitting. Now he can go several steps before sitting or falling making mommy a nervous wreck as well as making new marks on his already decorative body. We are thrilled to no end at this milestone Cam has come a long way through too much and just blasting his obstacles. We are extremely proud of our little man!

We don’t see the pediatric cardiologist for another echo until the end of October because things have been steady normal for him (knock on wood). We had a few doctor appointments check ups mostly with the regular pediatrician. Cameron was having diarrhea from teething so I made an unscheduled visit just to be sure and they found the start of an ear infection also from teething. We were able to do the normal antibiotics for 10 days and he is all clear now. Cam had his top front two teeth cut though and some others not far behind, it seems like they are sprouting out all at once poor man. They want Cameron on half formula half pediasure for weight gain until 18 months then we will consider going to full pediasure. I mostly do vanilla flavor and once a day a chocolate or banana flavor and I tried strawberry once but he skipped on that feed. Cam is eating 3 normal meals a day (breakfast/lunch/dinner) well I try anyway he does have a picky appetite and an attitude. Like any other toddler he plays with some foods particularly peas and carrots smashing them and giggling hysterically. Also, he loves to toss the plate and cup off the table when frustrated or done with mealtime as well as feeds the dogs by handing snacks over to them. Anyway we are enjoying the current change in weather with the cooler temperatures, it has been nice to take our strolls outside without burning up in the sun. I am taking Cam out more to some places and I wet wipe down everything. However, I have been advised to be extra careful this flu season and he will be getting a flu shot this year.
